Christmas Day Snapshots

DSC_1040

Noooo Christmas is over! I hope you all had a great day with your loved ones. Christmas day is usually a very low-key, relaxing day for us and this year was no exception. We started the morning with cinnamon rolls and berries (have I blogged about cinnamon rolls enough lately??). Then presents! I love picking out gifts, especially at Christmas time! Anybody else agree that boys are extremely hard to shop for though? We lounged around, snacked, and colored in our Pj’s the rest of the day. It’s the perfect way to prepare for after Christmas shopping, am I right? : )

I also want to say a quick thanks to YOU. It’s been super fun chatting with some of you and finding lots of really cool blogs over the past few months. Looking forward to more in 2013!

Christmas Village

DSC_0915

It’s been a long standing tradition at our house to put up a ceramic Christmas village. I’ve always loved setting it up and trying new arrangements every year. It’s the urban planner in me, I suppose. My mom wanted to make sure that my sister and I got to have our own Christmas village while we aren’t at home, so she got crafty! She let us pick a theme and I went with a glittery woodland theme, which matches my little tree as well. The end result was a total surprise (I know she used the Winter Woodland Cricut Cartridge) and I love it so much! She even included some flameless candles to go inside. The flickering lights in the windows are so pretty and cozy.

Are You Ready?

I’m home! Our Thanksgiving prep started today and I’m officially in charge of the TURKEY! I am pretty pumped and have something very special planned for it. And maybe slightly weird, so I’m not going to give too much away now…but I will say that he is all tucked in to his brine for the night. We got most of our planning and shopping done this morning and then took it easy. Even though it has been beautiful and close to 70 degrees, we kept cozy with hot chocolate and crafts. Plus a few outdoor play sessions with the puppy. I can’t wait for tomorrow and I hope you are all enjoying time with your loved ones before the craziness begins!

:: The table is ready, but are we?? ::

:: Pick your favorite…we got it all ::

:: All tucked in! Apple cider brine with oranges, lemons, rosemary, peppercorns, bay leaves, and nutmeg. Oh, and SALT ::

:: Ozzie would rather be monitoring the kitchen than out in the lovely weather! ::

:: Cute candy and a cute little potato heart…can you tell? ::
